The New Providence Business Community, sponsors and organizers of the July 3 Celebration and Summer Concert Series, regrets to announce that both events have been cancelled this year. The impact on New Providence businesses as a result of the coronavirus pandemic has been huge. Many businesses are struggling to survive. Others are focused on changing their business models and delivery methods to retain staff and customers within the current Executive Order guidelines. All are trying to figure out how to safely reopen when restrictions allow, and have neither the resources to fund nor the time to execute these large events.
“This was not an easy decision to make, but it is just not possible for us to sponsor and manage the upcoming July 3 Celebration or Summer Concert Series this year,” said Michelle Brugger, President of New Providence Business. “Each of these events requires months of planning and large financial sponsorships. The financial burden on the businesses that sponsor the events would be too onerous, and there simply isn’t the manpower available to plan and run these events. Furthermore, although they may change at any time, the current social distancing guidelines would prohibit the gathering of crowds that these events typically draw.”
“We are so grateful for all of the support we are receiving from the community and encourage everyone to continue to patronize our New Providence businesses,” said Brugger. “Our local businesses are finding new and innovative ways to continue to serve you! An updated listing of current businesses offerings, as well as a searchable online Business & Services directory can be found on the Business Community website, www.newprovbiz.com and also the borough website, www.newprov.org. Please help us to remain a part of the community that we love!”
Good morning great fans of our Where’s the Chair promotion!
Unfortunately, week 7 cannot go on at this point and we will have to end the promotion today.
When the chair was poised to moved to its final location this morning, it was discovered that an individual or group of individuals vandalized and broke the seat of the chair. The entire bottom of the chair needs to rebuilt.
We are disappointed that we were unable to continue. And even more disappointed that someone would do something like that and ruin the fun time for everyone. It’s a shame.
Luckily, we have an amazing and exciting promotion starting on Friday, 11/27. The first ever Golden Ticket Promotion! When you Shop New Providence you can WIN! When you shop at a participating retailer, you’ll receive a scratch-off ticket along with your receipt (while supplies last!). The more you shop, the more you can win!
